Lottie's Kitchen Intensifies Production for War Effort

Lottie's Kitchen, run by Ezer Mizion in Jerusalem, has upped its regular production of food by over 50% to accommodate the flood of evacuees from the north seeking refuge in Jerusalem and its environs.

The kitchen, named in memory of Lottie Chalom, prepares and distributes 72,000 free  meals a year at Jerusalem's hospitals - Hadasasah Ein Karem, Hadassah Mt. Scopus, Shaarei Zedek, and Alyn Orthopedic Hospitals.   The nutritious meals, to families keeping watch at the bedsides of loved ones, include a main course - a choice of hot dogs, fish, chicken, or vegetarian,  cooked vegetables, pasta or rice, and a salad.  Hundreds of sandwiches (tuna, egg, eggplant, humous) are also distributed every day, with a special service that provides sandwiches for family members waiting at the emergency room at Hadassah Ein Karem in the middle of the night.

Now the kitchen has added an additional 130 meals to the 250 hot meals that it prepares and distributes daily, for the families from the north who left their homes with only the clothes on their backs.   These families, who are being housed in the dormitories of schools and in private homes, are true refugees and only yearn for peace so that they can return home and restore their lives to normal routine.
