Summer Camps go on Despite War in the North

"We cannot disappoint the children who have been looking forward all year to the summer camps," noted Chananya Chollak, International chairman of Ezer Mizion.

Despite the war in the north and Ezer Mizion's monumental efforts to help the residents, the unique summer camps it runs every year for special needs children and for families of cancer victims, ran on schedule.   Over 850 children  suffering from mental retardation, autism, cerebral palsy, and other disabilities took part in  five B'lev Sameach summer camps in various locations in Israel.  They enjoyed fresh air, swimming, and sports, and a full schedule of activities. A dedicated staff, many of whom are highly skilled professionals, catered to all the campers' needs.  Devoted volunteer counselors provided one-on-one attention, making it possible for the youngsters to take part in a wide variety of activities.  At the same time, the camp provided a respite for parents, enabling them to recharge their batteries and get a well-deserved rest from the burden of constant care.
