Loneliness can wreak havoc on an individual’s physical, mental and cognitive health.

Ezer Mizion has many services and programs to benefit the elderly and people with mental illness. A large percentage of mental health clients and Golden Age clients do not have access to digital technology or are often technologically challenged. Many of them are struggling with loneliness, seclusion, isolation, impairment of social skills, and a sense of not belonging. The Corona period has seriously intensified these social challenges by creating substantial detachment from the regular daily schedule. The divisions’ professional staff maintains telephone contact with all of the clients. At the same time, there is a defined need to expand mediums for maintaining social connections and for preserving the therapy continuum by providing digital options as well.

For that purpose, we are purchasing 100 tablets to be distributed to the group of participants in both Ezer Mizion’s mental health rehab Social and Leisure-Time Centers and Ezer Mizion’s Golden Age Division.

These tablets are a means of empowerment that will promote a sense of social belonging, reduce loneliness, and enhance quality of life.

WE NEED YOUR HELP to make this digital technology available to enable continued social connections, raise spirits and contribute in an effective way to maintaining emotional wellness.
