Ezer Mizion’s International Jewish Bone Marrow Registry will celebrate the Tenth Anniversary of its partnership with the IDF at the Pierre Hotel on November 11th .
For many cancer patients, a bone marrow transplant is the sole chance of survival. DNA matching between donor and recipient is essential to success.
Since the 2005 partnership with the IDF, new recruits are offered the opportunity to join Ezer Mizion as part of their induction and have enriched the registry with varied ethnicities, greatly increasing the chances of finding a match. A celebration took place in Israel in 2014 honoring 500 IDF soldiers who have donated bone marrow, thereby saving the lives of 500 patients in the global Jewish community. Ezer Mizion is grateful to the IDF for partnering in its life-saving goals.
David and Cheryl Scharf, longtime dedicated friends of Ezer Mizion, will be awarded the Service for Life Leadership Award. Marcos and Adina Katz of Mexico, devoted supporters of Ezer Mizion, will be awarded the Legacy for Life Humanitarian Award.
