Oranit, Ezer Mizion’s guest home for children with cancer, has named its activity center the “Oranit – Donald Berman Rehabilitation Center”, in memory of the late Mr. Donald Berman of Montreal, Canada.
The Donald Berman Rehabilitation Center at Oranit features recreation rooms suitable for children of all ages; a unique wildlife pavilion equipped with video-conferencing technology; an extensive book, periodical and CD library; a computer room with educational and recreational programs; a study area for remedial help where kids catch up on schoolwork; a kindergarten playroom for young children; a music room; an arts and crafts room; and more. The Donald Berman Rehabilitation Center comes to augment the residential facilities provided by the Andrew and Margaret Rosinger Guest Wing, where young cancer patients stay with their parents for the duration of ambulatory cancer therapy.
The diverse activities and innovative therapeutic programs continually evolving at the Oranit – Donald Berman Rehabilitation Center make it a dynamic, fun place to be – even for children and families fighting the nightmare of cancer. The support, relief and empowerment sick children and their families draw from the premises and programs at the Rehabilitation Center will be an eloquent and lasting perpetuation of Mr. Berman’s memory.
