Food is often the last thing on the minds of individuals and families coping with illness or disability. People caring for an infirm family member can be too preoccupied to pay proper attention to eating and food preparation.
Ezer Mizion’s Food Distribution Program is a huge, Israel-wide operation that provides hot meals, sandwiches and refreshments to these families, giving them the energy and physical stamina to continue caring for their loved ones. Along with the nutritious and satisfying food, Ezer Mizion volunteers also bring emotional nourishment in the form of smiles, words of encouragement, and a listening ear.
The Food Distribution Program prepares and delivers over half a million meals each year. These meals are distributed to family members staying with hospitalized patients, to families with a sick or disabled parent, to victims of terror and their families, and to the sick and the homebound.
Lottie’s Kitchen, Jerusalem
In memory of Lottie and Haim Chalom Together with Haim, she succeeded brilliantly in touching the lives of everyone around her through her legendary cookies and care.
In a fitting memorial, Lottie’s Kitchen in Jerusalem was established by Lottie’s family and continues to be supported by her community. Lottie’s Kitchen prepares hundreds of meals, sandwiches and snacks every day for families of sick and hospitalized patients. Dedicated Ezer Mizion volunteers deliver the food to hospitals and the homes of sick people, bringing encouraging words and emotional nourishment along with the nutritious food.
Ezer Mizion would like to thank the following for their support:
