Unique Health Maintenance Initiative in Petach Tikvah

Petach Tikvah Municipality and Sharon Hospital launch a joint initiative with Ezer Mizion to promote health for seniors

This week, a unique initiative was launched in Petach Tivkah, a collaborative effort of the Petach Tikvah Municipality and Sharon Hospital. The initiative on behalf of the city’s elderly focuses on preventing common health risks.

The initiative is part of a collaborative framework of the Petach Tikvah Municipality Committee for Health Promotion and Ezer Mizion.

Among the prominent participants in the event launching the project were Itzik Braverman – mayor of Petach Tikvah, Yonah Amrusi – Director of Neighborhoods Division, Dr. Carlus Gruzman – Director of Sharon Hospital, Dr. Dror Dicker – Director of Internal Medicine 4, Chairman of the Health Promotion committee, and member of the municipal Health Promotion Committee, Dr. Alon Peretz – Director of the Occupational Clinic, Lara Keselman – Director opr golden 2 14 yom tzilulim DSCF1639f Geriatrics, Shuli Reinhart – Municipal Health Coordinator, Ezer Mizion representatives, and representatives of the Community Center where the ceremony took place. ision for the Benefit of Senior Citizens. I shared the Aleh organization’s interest in expanding and developing additional services for target populations of seniors with impaired function in order to continue actualizing the organization’s goals and contribute to enhancement of the quality of life for the elderly population in the city. They shared with me the details of the innovative program for the benefit of seniors with cognitive decline that had been in existence for several years.

In our discussions, the idea came up to form a collaboration between Ezer Mizion, the Rechovot Municipality and Aleh which will operate “Bonding and Building. This program was conceived by EMDA an organization founded by relatives of people with Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other similar conditions. Tu B’shvat Party for Golden-Agers

Included in the program were Rambam School children who performed and sang for/with the participants. their enthusiasm was contagious, causing many participants to join in t e songs. The festivities were attended by Mr. Zvi Weiss, deputy mayor of Herzliya.

Ezer Mizion’s Ambulance and Transport division were recruited to bring mobility impaired and elderly who were not able to get there on their own.

The New Circle

Following the great success of the first groups, Ezer Mizion’s Malka Hager Fitness Center is carrying on with additional conversation groups for seniors on the topic of positive thinking.
